Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes

How do I book a home?
You can either make a booking directly on this website by using the “check availability box” to the left. Or you can call our office at (864) 214-6463 and a receptionist will be glad to help you.

Is booking online secure?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database. It will only be accessible by those authorized with special rights to such systems. They are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Can I bring my pet with me?
We offer several homes, some of which allow pets and some do not. You can either look at our properties online by clicking on the “vacation rentals” tab above and see if the home you are looking at allows pets. Or you can call our office at (864) 214-6463 and a receptionist would love to help find a home that is just right for you and your pet.  Any guest bringing a pet will be charged a pet fee and a refundable pet deposit.  Please review the terms and conditions and house rules under each property listing for details.

What are the benefits of a vacation home rental?
Our vacation homes are stocked in such a way that you always feel like you are coming “home” to your “vacation home” rather than returning to a small hotel room. Our homes have full kitchens, with some homes having fenced in yards for pets, decks/patios with BBQ grills or access to community pools. You will be able to enjoy a fully equipped home while you are on vacation rather than a small, cramped hotel room.

Are linens and towels provided?
Linens and towels are provided. Our linens are professionally laundered at a commercial laundromat to ensure that they are properly sanitized for our guests.

What time is check-in/out?
Check-in time is as early as 4:00 PM. Check-out time is 10:00 AM. We do have options for early check-in and late check-out, but there is a fee associated with these options, and is only approved with prior authorization from Stay GVL.

What is your cancellation policy?
We have a strict reservation policy. Reservations are fully refundable up to 30 days before your stay. After that point, the amount of the refund will be contingent on whether we are able to find another guest to rent the property during the same time frame. Guests that cancel inside the cancellation window will receive a partial or full refund depending on what dates the property was re-rented.

How old do I have to be to rent your homes?
The registered guest must be 21 years of age or older. Subletting of a rental home is prohibited.

What is included with the home?
Each home is privately owned, so some amenities vary. However, homes will have at a minimum kitchen cooking utensils, plates, and silverware, coffee makers, linens and towels are provided. Stay GVL has provides a starter of hand and dishwasher soap, toilet paper, tissue, and garbage bags. Guest(s) provides personal items, all edibles (this includes condiments and spices) and foil or saran wrap.

What if something in the home doesn’t work or is broken?

What about housekeeping services?
Stay GVL has your home professionally cleaned prior to your arrival and again after you leave. If you have any concerns, please call us during our office hours and we will be happy to help.

What is asked of the Guest upon departure?
No cleaning is required of the Guest(s) but if you would please start the dishwasher and gather all dirty linens in one place, it would be very much appreciated!  Please sign out of your account on any Smart TV.  Additionally, please make sure you do not shut off the heat/AC, and ensure all windows and doors are locked upon your departure.

What if we lose a personal item?
We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please make sure you do not leave anything behind. If we have to go out and search or retrieve a lost item there will be a reasonable charge for fuel, labor, and shipping fees.

Can we have an extra person (or children) sleep on the floor in sleeping bags?
Unfortunately, no (unless they’re under the age of five). Greenville, Anderson, and Brevard Counties have occupancy ordinances designed to keep the homes you would like to come back to. It is designed not to overtax the water, sewage, road, and other systems required in maintaining a smooth flowing environment. Only the number of people stated in the description of the property and on the postings in the home are permitted to sleep in the home. Violation of the maximum overnight occupancy is a class B infraction and subjects each occupant to a maximum of a $100.00 fine. Per owner’s contracts, maximum occupancy may be less than allowed by occupancy ordinance.

Do the homes have cable?
Most of our homes at least have a basic cable package, but for any homes that do not, they are required to have at least a smart tv and a Wi-Fi connection to watch movies and shows on apps like Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon. Please Refer to the Welcome Guide binder that is in the home for any questions, or feel free to give us a call.

Is high-speed Internet available?
We do have High-Speed Wi-Fi in all of our homes. Look in the property description for details. (Stay GVL is not responsible for events out of our control, such as natural or man-made disaster, an electrical blackout, loss of telephone service/internet, and no refunds will be given.)
